About the research projects

The family see the funding of the BSNRF 2022 grant round as a natural progression of the Ralph and Patricia Sarich Neuroscience Research Institute.

All the research projects within the fund are, in our view , of the utmost importance in procuring successful treatments for several devastating neurological conditions and the extensive impacts they have on individual’s lives and often the lives of their families.
— Mr Peter Sarich, major donor

The BSNRF supports research projects that meet two objectives: advancing our knowledge of the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders and progressing research along the translational pathway towards the point of delivering benefits to patients with neurological disease.

Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and mild traumatic brain injury are among the research areas supported in the inaugural round of grants which were awarded in 2022.
